The Scinde Dawk: Asia's First Postage Stamp

Issued in 1852, the Scinde Dawk was the first postage stamp in Asia. These stamps were embossed on brittle sealing wax wafers. While they originally cost only half an anna, their extreme fragility means fewer than 100 survive today, making the red variety particularly valuable to specialist collectors.

Philatelic Errors: The Inverted Head and Omitted Portraits
